Cookery courses for all tastes
Whether you are interested in bread, game, fish, vegetarian food or different cuisines, our cookery courses are a great experience. Our approach is very informal and relaxed - you will learn a lot while you are with us, but you will also have a great experience. You will leave full of inspiration and with new skills to take back to your own kitchen. We offer a range of one-day and part-day sessions, covering subjects from Fish to Game to Vegetarian to Bread Making, all from our beautiful new premises in Ilfracombe, Devon.
We have been running cookery courses since 2010, with hundreds of delighted participants - many returning several times for different subjects. Up until December we were based at Streamcombe, near Dulverton, Somerset, but we are very excited to have now relocated to Fore Street in Ilfracombe. Our new venue continues our informal and slightly rustic style, is beautifully light and sunny, and, is only a stone's throw from the sea. Obviously, it didn't make much sense to continue calling ourselves Streamcombe Cookery School, and so we are now Coastal Cooking. Our cookery sessions are essentially unchanged, but now also offer short courses, such as Pasta Making.

We pack plenty into every event, covering each topic as comprehensively as we can. We focus on why each technique or ingredient is important and all sessions are very "hands on" - you will be the one doing the cooking. Groups are kept small to give you maximum direct tuition and allows all skill levels to be accommodated. One day courses are £125 per person and the short, 2 hour, courses start £25 per person.
Alongside our set of regular courses, we also run bespoke or private courses for families or groups of friends and these can be full or part days.
